Sammy is a 6-year-old Chihuahua / Jack Russell mix, about 11 lbs. White with brown ears and a brown spot on one side of her face. She wears a pink/purple collar with no tag (the tag always fell off). She is microchipped. Sammy is very skittish and will run if approached or chased. Do not try to grab her. She has been spotted multiple times traveling during the day (all times of day). She has a powerful bond with her family, which is why she keeps moving. She is searching for us.

Possible sighting at 7pm at the corner of Desire and Galvez. White dog with a collar. Could not be confirmed as Sammy. If you see her, call us immediately.

Most recent confirmed sightings: Saturday May 16 and Sunday May 17, 2026. Sammy was spotted in the Lafitte Greenway area and surrounding neighborhoods. On Sunday morning she was sighted at Norman C. Francis and Bienville. She may be heading toward Metairie, but she is fast and could be anywhere. Additional sightings have been reported after 5/17 but could not be confirmed as Sammy.
